FAQ

Where will my appointments be held?

Your appointments will be held at Suite 18/18 Kearns Crescent, Ardross, within Connect Psychology. Please see the map here which shows the outside of the building. Go through the white gate and we are the green door upstairs.

Unfortunately there is a flight of stairs to navigate to access the clinic, so if you have mobility needs please get in touch for alternative arrangements.

Please note there is another building on the street that has the number 18-22 on the front – that’s not us.

Telehealth is also available on (Bookable on Tuesdays) and other days on request.

What can I expect from my first session?

Before your first session you will be sent the online intake form so we have the maximum time to talk. When you arrive at the rooms please take a seat in the waiting area and I will come and get you for your session. If your session is on telehealth, you can just get comfortable, and log onto to Zoom via the provided link.

We will spend most of the first session discussing the reasons you have decided to seek support and the changes you would like to see as a result of therapy. Usually by the end of the first session we will have developed a plan to help you achieve the change you would like to see. Clients often report feeling nervous before their first appointment, but hugely relieved afterwards. Sometimes, talking about the problem and making a plan for change can be a great relief.

What are the session fees?

The current fees up to 31 December 2026 for a 50 minute session are $240. You will be emailed a receipt for private health claims. The fee for telehealth-only days (Tuesday) is slightly lower at $220.

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan for psychological treatment your out of pocket expenses will be approximately $140.

This practice strives to keep our services financially accessible. Therefore our fees are well below the APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2025-2026 which is set at $318 per session.

How do I pay?

Payment is made by credit/debit card and is processed electronically and securely through Halaxy at the end of your session. If you are eligible for a Medicare rebate this will be processed at the same time.

When you book your first appointment we will ask you for payment details via Halaxy, and payment will be taken quickly and easily after each session. If you would rather pay by BPay, or direct deposit, please let us know and we will invoice you after your session for payment on the same day.

Halaxy is protected by 256-bit bank grade security and encryption, which means records, notes and payment information is protected to the same level used in banks. All information is encrypted and stored in a securely protected data centre in Australia.

Can I claim a rebate through Medicare?

If you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) referral from your GP you will be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate of $98.95 per session, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. After 6 sessions you will need to obtain another referral from your GP. We can process your rebate for you electronically after each session.

Can I claim through my private health fund?

If you do not have a MHTP referral from your GP, you may be able to claim a rebate from your private health fund. Check with your fund as to what they cover, and we will send you receipt after payment you can use to claim.
